Breaking It Apart - The Films of David Lynch (Featuring Mike Miley)

On this new entry in the special episode series Breaking It Apart, I’m joined by Mike Miley, author of the book David Lynch's American Dreamscapes, to do a first of its kind episode... A look at films that may have been inspired by the collective works of David Lynch. Undoubtebly one of the most influential figures in cinema, after he recently passed away, it only made sense to do this episode on his full filmography rather than a single film. Puzzle pieces include Natural Born Killers, Synecdoche New York, Barton Fink and I Saw The TV Glow.

As always, SPOILER ALERT for any of the movies we discuss!

Mike Miley is a professor and writer whose most recent book is David Lynch's American Dreamscape.

About the Podcast

Piecing It Together Podcast
All Points West
A podcast about movies and the movies that inspired them. A good movie is the result of a large number of people both in front of and behind the camera combining to create a piece of art… But what about the movies that came before that inspired those filmmakers to make the movie? On Piecing It Together we figure out what the clear (and not so clear) influences were that make up the movies we love.
